Our Journey Through the Years
From humble beginnings to transforming millions of lives, discover the milestones that shaped our mission of compassion and service.
Residential School Foundation Established
Where It All Began
The Crescent Foundation was established in Atlanta, GA and then took more shape in the silicon Valley California with a vision to serve the underprivileged communities across India. A small group of dedicated social workers came together with a shared dream of creating lasting change in the lives of those in need. The concept was to build a guardianship where all layers of the society,
irrespective of their financial condition, in a residential system and get equal opportunity to grow up. Quality education is inclusive and accessible to all. Raise the children with Indian value and moral responsibility. Merit was given the higher priority for admission so that no rural talent is lost. to realized the dream in 2014 we started with 37 students this journey.
First Donation Campaign
Building Trust Through Transparency
Did our first donation campaign, raising over $15K from generous donors. This milestone proved that people believed in our mission and were willing to invest in the future of India's most vulnerable communities. We started to support even more destitute students in rural India.
First Elementary School Established
Education for All
Constructed our first primary school in Jansi (WB), providing free education to over 342 children. The school became a beacon of hope in a region where literacy rates were below 40% and children often had to walk miles to reach the nearest classroom. Total students served in 2018 is 342 including 49 orphans and 270 destitute.
Skills development Initiative
Skills development for dropout students and widows
We established the skills development in our school first time for the young dropout students, and widows providing free tailoring and computer skills over few 100 students every year. Many villagers received these training and becoming self dependent for the first time in their lives, marking a turning point for their family.
Rural Development thought quality Education and Skills
Transforming Rural talent
Expanded operations to cover 50 villages across West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand, implementing quality education and skills development projects, and training programs. The initiative improved living conditions for over 20,000 families for the past 10 years and continuing to expand the quality educations and awareness. For the humanitarian relief we are also distributing Ramadan dry ration and winter cloth and medical camp to these rural villages in every season.
Empowering Rural Girls Through Education
Transforming Rural talent
For girls growing up in low-income rural families, talent alone is often not enough. When a family struggles to meet even basic needs, educating a daughter may become a secondary priority. Too often, a talented girl is encouraged to marry early simply because her family cannot afford to continue supporting her education.
Crescent Foundation is working to change this reality.
We identify talented girls from economically disadvantaged rural communities and provide them with the opportunity to attend a safe, supportive residential school. Here, they receive quality education, mentorship, nutritious food, accommodation, and an environment where they can focus on learning without the financial pressures they face at home.
Our goal is not simply to educate one girl. It is to educate a future mother, professional, leader, and role model who can inspire other girls in her village to dream bigger.
When we educate a girl, we strengthen a family.
When we educate many girls, we transform a generation.
